  EARLY TREATMENT
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends initial orthodontic screening at age 7. This is necessary because most problems can be detected early and with proper intervention more aggressive treatment can be avoided. Some of the advantages of early interceptive treatment include

  • Creating room for crowded teeth.
  • Enhance facial symmetry by influencing jaws growth.
  • Reduce the risk of trauma to protruding teeth.
  • Preserve space for unerupted teeth.
  • Reduce the need for tooth removal.
  • Reduce treatment time in braces.

      ADULT TREATMENT
Orthodontic treatment later in life can improve your personal appearance, self-esteem, and general health. Crooked teeth and bad bite can contribute to gum disease and bone loss, tooth decay, abnormal wear of enamel, headaches and jaws joint pain (TMD).

With new treatment techniques like invisible braces and crystalline ceramic braces, adults can enjoy wearing braces without the metal showing.

      RETENTION
The long-term prognosis of having a beautiful smile after braces depends on your retainers. We recommend a minimum of 24 months for most of our cases and sometimes lifetime retention might be necessary.

      JAW SURGERY
Corrective jaw surgery/orthognathic surgery is used to correct abnormalities of facial bones especially the jaws. Often these abnormalities cause difficulty associated with chewing, talking, sleeping, and other functions. Using surgery and orthodontic treatment, these problems can be corrected and the over all appearance of the face can be improved.

Using the latest digital imaging technology, we will demonstrate the functional and esthetic benefits of orthognathic surgery. Orthognathic surgery may not be necessary if orthodontic treatment can correct the problem.

With the latest advances in orthodontics, this is sometimes the case. We will determine if orthognathic surgery is the correct treatment for you.
